Liverpool away

After the 1-0 thrashing of Newcastle at home in midweek, Wigan suffered a narrow 3-0 defeat away to Liverpool.

OK, we lost but I don’t think that we did that badly. The scoreline flattered Liverpool just as 1-0 against Newcastle didn’t do us justice.

As for the the Crouch goal/Pollitt own goal debate that is going to be referred to the Dubious Goals Committee. I can’t see how Crouch can claim it because the goal was more due to the deflection than his shot. Pollitt has failed to clear a difficult ball so he can’t be held responsible. If anyone scored it then it would be Baines because it was his foot that sent it towards goal, but that would be ridiculous.
I think the committee should consider a third alternative verdict for goals of this nature, Fluke.
