Arsenal Review

A fantastic night for all Wigan Athletic fans and, not for the first time in the last couple of years, my thoughts turned to all those Latics fans who are no longer with us.

A full-strength Arsenal side always seemed to have the upper hand in the game, but Pollitt was amazing in goal and stopped them taking the advantage.

Wigan should have had 3 penalties, but it was left up to another last-minute goal from Jason Roberts to send us into a major final for the first time. (Remember when we always conceded a goal in the last minute? Now we score them!)

Reto Ziegler, newly arrived on loan from Spurs, obviously hasn’t heard of the rule that all new players score on their debut, but he played well for the hour he was on the pitch.
