Latics took a point from the Villa match to extend their unbeaten run to three games, though surely they deserved all three and there were some good performances by lads in blue
Ali made some excellent stops, one in particular from Darren Bent was top class, Figgy was solid and Alcaraz had what was possibly his best game of the season.
Jean Beausejour continues to impress, he plays like he`s been around the place for years not weeks, both James McArthur and Franco Di Santo were full of energy, but my man of the match was Gary Caldwell
The Latics skipper was exceptional, he led through example, uncompromising and resolute at the back, his van Basten esque volley was sublime, he even ventured onto the left wing and beat three Villa players. A great performance from the skipper.
So Caldwell is my man of the match, but who is yours? To participate in the vote simply access the poll on the right side of this page, select your preferred option and then hit the submit button, its that easy
