Wigan Athletic centre-back Chey Dunkley has today been named in the EFL Team of the Week.
The news comes after the 25-year-old’s Man of the Match performance during the 3-1 victory at Blackpool on Saturday.
It was actually a disastrous start to the game for Dunkley, who headed past his own goalkeeper, Jamie Jones, to gift the Seasiders a 1-0 lead.
However, he scrambled home Latics’ deserved equaliser on the stroke of half-time, his first goal for the club, before grabbing his second of the game to make it 2-1 just 10 minutes after the interval.
The victory leaves Paul Cook’s side eight points clear of third-placed Bradford City and just two points behind league leaders Shrewsbury Town.
