Despite suffering, what was suspected as a broken foot, McCulloch is ready to come through the pain barrier and lead Latics charge against West Ham on Saturday.

The Scot said ‘The foot is still a bit tender, but, thankfully there was no break, just a bit of bleeding`

‘I think I`m going to have some pain when I play, but I`m willing to go through that, it will be forgotten when I get on the pitch`

That is just the fighting spirit that the Wigan players will need to show in what will surely be physical encounter with so much at stake.

Meanwhile the club are expecting a sell out for the game.

There are only a few hundred tickets left, with the clubs ticket office hot-line inundated with callers, and it appears that the town have finally got behind the team.

What will the score be?
