Following yesterdays goalless draw at Goodison between Everton and Wigan Athletic both bosses spoke to the press, let`s see what they had to say:

Latics boss Roberto Martinez:

‘I’m extremely proud to come away from the game with a point.

‘Because when you come to Goodison Park at this stage of the season you need a complete performance to get something out of the game.

‘We defended well and we kept concentration. We showed intensity in our defending in important moments. But we grew in the second half. And we created the best chances, arguably, of the game.

‘Coming here is a difficult place but we were well worth the point – if not the three points. When Ronnie Stam hit the ball I thought he would score because he got into a good position and he’s got that composure to wait a little bit to see Howard’s movement. When it seems he has gone to the opposite post, he pulls off a great reflex save.’

‘You need to show great concentration and great togetherness. I felt we did that – we defended as a team and showed good composure.

‘You feel the strong manner in which we finished the game, especially away from home, gives us a fantastic platform to keep on improving and getting better.’

Everton boss David Moyes:

‘I’m disappointed that we didn’t win the game.

‘We had a few chances but today we didn’t have the quality to finish them. It’s been the story of our season – we have been finding it really difficult to score goals.

‘I think we’re creating plenty – today we created four or five good opportunities – so I was just hoping someone could stick one into the back of the net. Unfortunately today that didn’t happen.’

‘I didn’t think Wigan had many opportunities and thought that was probably their main chance, they were always going to get a chance sometime.

‘We just had to make sure we kept it out and thankfully the goalkeeper did.’
