Wigan Athletic scrapped to a 0-0 draw away at Everton yesterday and there were some very dogged performances from the Latics players.

Hendry Thomas put it about quite a bit in the first half and to be fair he took a some back also, he was strong both in the tackle and on the ball, he was replaced in the second half after picking up a booking, Martinez obviously not wanting to see his top performer of recent weeks receive a second yellow.

Steve Gohouri gave a solid performance and as well as defending stoutly, he got forward a few times down the Latics right to support the attacks. Momo Diame was good in midfield, covering quite a bit of ground and he had a couple of great runs on the ball, one in particular saw him evade three challenges has he wriggled his way into the Everton box.

Ben Watson had a very good game, it`s obvious that the midfielder needs game time to get up to speed and he is getting better with every game he plays, but for me Ali Al-Habsi was the star man yesterday.

Al-Habsi pulled off two cracking saves, commanded his box very well and was on top form thwarting the Everton attack on several occasions, yep Al-Habsi for me.
