Club captain Stephen Warnock is leaving Wigan Athletic after 18 months at the DW Stadium.

Warncok told the club’s official website: ‘It’s difficult to say goodbye because I enjoyed such a high at this club when I first joined and I [will] have those good memories forever.’

‘I am sure Wigan Athletic will bounce back next season and I wish everyone at the club well in the future.’

The 35-year-old’s spot at left back will now be up for either Andy Kellett or Reece James to claim next season.

Meanwhile, Jordan Flores and David Perkins have both been offered new deals. The club is awaiting the outcome of those contract offers which are likely to only be one year deals.

Andrew Taylor has left and is set to join Bolton Wanderers on a permanent deal. Jussi Jaaskelainen and Gabriel Obertan have also left Latics.

And finally, it has been confirmed that all loan players have returned to their parent clubs. They are: Callum Connolly, Jamie Hanson, Adam Bogdan, Reece Burke, Marcus Browne, Alex Bruce, James Weir, Ryan Tunnicliffe and Jakub Haugaard.
