Wigan Athletic are set to give a one week trial to Oman international midfield man Eid Al Farsi, report The Oman Times

The Latics have of course forged some excellent links with the Oman FA, became the first Premier League club to play in Oman and Latics goalkeeper is Omani Ali Al Habsi, so there are already ties in place.

The Oman Times report that Latics scouts watched the recent Oman v Fulham friendly and that is when they spotted Eid Al Farsi, we have apparently made contact with the Oman FA via a letter requesting the trial period

Seaking to the Times, Oman FA official Sayyid Khalid Al Busaidi said – ‘We have received an official letter from Wigan to send Eid Al Farsi for a week so that they could evaluate his performance and then decide if they want to hire him or not’

The 25 year old made his international debut in 2010 and so far has 7 caps
