Wigan Athletic are being linked with a move for Swansea City midfield player Leon Britton who is out of contract at the end of the season and therefore would be available on a free transfer.
The Latics offered £1 million for the combative midfield man back in January but were turned down with Swansea still hopeful of getting the player to stay at the Liberty Stadium and extend his contract
Britton has made over 300 appearances for the Swans since joining initially on loan from West Ham back in 2002 and he`s played in every division in the English league with the Welsh club bar the Premier League.
The 27 year old is also attracting interest from Championship bound Burnley and the player might just opt to go where he would have the best chance of regular first team football.
