Wigan Athletic midfield man James McCarthy has been named the Football Association of Ireland Young Player of the Year 2012 at an awards ceremony in Dublin last night (Sunday)
McCarthy beat other nominees Seamus Coleman (Everton) and Robbie Brady (Hull City) to the title and he was also nominated for the Senior Player of the Year, which was won by Bolton star Keith Andrews
So congratulations to James McCarthy who had a fantastic 2012 for both club and country
