Arouna Kone’s sabbatical from Wigan Athletic came to an end this afternoon when the Ivory Coast lost 2-1 to Nigeria in the African Cup of Nations quarter-final

The Latics top scorer has been away on international duty for the past five weeks, his last game was on New Years Day in the defeat against Manchester United at the DW Stadium, although we have only lost one game in his absence, the power and pace that he brings to the side have been greatly missed and we need him back to give us extra options going forward

Hopefully he’ll be able to feature in Saturday’s game away at Chelsea, he definitely won’t be ‘tournament tired’ having only started one game, he didn’t feature at all in this afternoons defeat.

Hurry up home Arouna, you’ve been missed

Come home Kone
