Wigan Athletic went to Edinburgh for this evenings friendly and left with a good work out and a 1-0 victory courtesy of an excellent strike from an acute angle by Amr Zaki.

With around 300 Wigan fans making the trip north of the border the Latics started the game with Nash continuing in goal, Kapo started in place of De Ridder and Zaki was on from the off.

The first half saw Latics in the ascendancy for the first 30 minutes only to allow Hibs back in to it as the half drew to a close with the Edinburgh club having a goal rule out for offside.

The second half saw Heskey, Kapo and Melchiot being replaced by King, De Ridder and Montrose with King making an immediate impact and firing just wide with the Hibs keeper well beaten.

With 20 minutes of the half to go our favourite striker and FIFAs world number 1 Amr Zaki was put through down the Latics left following good work from Valencia in midfield.

Zaki burst into the Hibs area and as the keeper came out he coolly slotted a left foot shot with the outside of his boot from an impossible angle past the stranded keeper 1-0 Latics.
