Wigan Athletic and Egypt striker Amr Zaki appears to have suffered a serious knee injury in the 3-1 defeat to West Brom at the Hawthorns today.

Zaki came on as a 70 minute substitute but suffered what looks like a serious injury on 81 minutes with Latics boss Steve Bruce showing grave concern over the seriousness he told the BBC: “Zaki looks to have picked up a very serious knee injury.

“We will know more once the x-rays and scans have taken place but it doesn`t look promising”

This injury could spell the end of Zaki`s Latics career with the Egypt international due back at his home club Zamalek on the 6th June when his deal with the Latics expires, if it is as serious as first seems then he wont be playing again this season.

Good luck to Zaki lets hope that the injury isn`t that bad and hopefully he`ll get fit sooner rather than later
