Two games in the last week with two vastly differing performances has left Wigan fans wondering which is the real Wigan Athletic.

Last Saturday’s terrible performance, against the bottom team in the Premier League, is in sharp contrast to the tremndous performance against arguably the best club side in the world on Wednesday evening.

With only two changes from the first game to the second, this raises the question why so two vastly differing performances?

Whilst you would expect players to raise their games against United, the drop in performance against teams like Blackburn, Bolton and the Baggies has left the fans concerned and feeling let down.

Certain players appear to have been coasting ,with some notable exceptions in Bramble, Brown and Rodellega.

Today’s game agaisnt a focussed, physical Stoke side playing their final home game of the season, in front of a white hot crowd should be interesting to see how players respond to Wednesday’s game.

We can only hope that a performance like the first hour on Wednesday is forthcoming.
