Wigan Athletic forward and England international Emile Heskey is rumoured to be attracting the attention of Tottenham Hotspur

With Spurs selling Robbie Keane to Liverpool earlier in the summer and the proposed move of Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United Spurs need to bring in a quality striker.

It seems unlikely that Zenit St Petersburg are willing to drop to Spurs valuation on Andrei Arshavin so Ramos is now reportedly looking elsewhere and a rumour buzzing around the stands yesterday at the JJB was that Spurs are about to bid for Heskey.

Now this is pure speculation and there have been no reports in any of the papers or other media outlets but a quick check with a London based mate who is a Spurs fan confirmed that the rumour is running through White Hart Lane also

We are very short of quality on the striker front with just Heskey and Zaki our realistic front pairing, so if Heskey was sold we`d be in trouble with only injury prone Sibierski and sulky Camara to choose from.

Wait a minute; John Benson is as we speak tying up a deal to bring in South Koreas goal scoring sensation Chu-young Park, now then, am I putting two and two together and coming up with five?

I still think Heskey to Spurs is pure speculation, they don`t want him, we don`t want to sell him but with just one week left in the transfer window don`t be too surprised whatever happens
