Lee’s club Ulsan Hyundai are understood to have received a bid from the Premiership outfit and the 25-year old is due to fly out to England early next week to discuss terms.

The former Real Sociedad and Numancia player had earlier expressed his desire to ply his trade abroad again after spending the last two seasons in the K-League.

Portsmouth and Japan’s Yokohama F Marinos were reportedly interested in Lee but no formal offers were made for the winger.

If negotiations are successful, he is expected to join Middlesbrough’s imminent signing Lee Dong-gook as the second Korean player to move to the Premiership this January.
