Wigan Athletic Chairman Dave Whelan has spoken about the potential of selling Emile Heskey during the January transfer window and with renewed interest from Heskeys former club Liverpool the big man just might be tempted to sample the high life one last time.

Heskey is out of contract at the end of the season and Whelan has said that it is up to the England striker and what he wants to do, saying that the club respects Heskey and that they will not stand in his way if he wants to move, Whelan told reporters:

‘Everybody knows Emile Heskey`s future is hanging in the balance ahead of the coming transfer window.

‘He is out of contract at the end of the season but, so far, there have been no approaches for him. We totally respect Emile and it all depends on what he wants to do.

‘I honestly feel this could be his last career move. But, obviously, we`d love to see him stay at Wigan.’
