News on Wigan Athletic transfer dealings both in and out this week have been deafening by their quietness, though with the official window due to open on Friday and players contracts set to expire on the same day things should be a little more noisy this time next week.

But in the news this past seven days:

Stephen Crainey the Blackpool and Scotland left back reportedly close to signing for the Latics, according to the Mirror who say: free agent Crainey will turn down the chance to become Blackpools top earner by staying in the Premier League with Wigan.

Charles N’Zogbia Aston Villa are apparently the only club to make an official offer for Charlie, this came in on Friday, news on this as it develops.

Ali Al-Habsi no news on the Oman international who is still in the Gulf, just a lot of gesticulating in the media about what the Latics say and what Bolton say on the fee, apparently Villa are now considering making an offer.

Scott Sutter a very tenuous source linked the Latics with a move for the England born, Switzerland international, who currently plays for Young Boys with a fee of £1.5 million mentioned for the 25 year old full back.

Thats about it this week, it’s oh so quiet
