A new signing, a trialist in talks, wow the transfer window is really hotting up for the Latics, anyway lets take a look at what`s been happening these past seven days:

David Jones put pen to paper on a contract at the DW Stadium and the former Wolves, Derby and Manchester United man is now a Latics player, welcome on board Jonesy.

Nouha Dicko seems to be setting a few pulses racing with a couple of cameo appearances against PNE and Villarreal, as well as two games for the youngsters, Martinez appears top like the looks of the young striker who is currently on trial from French club RC Strasbourg, a contract could be in the offing.

Shaun Wright-Phillips is in the news with a strong link to the Latics, Bolton are also keen but if rumours are to be believed Wigan Athletic is the Manchester City players first choice, Sunderland tried to throw a spanner in the works by showing interest, but actually how many players do they want?

James McClean talking of Sunderland, the Derry City player, who was linked to the Latics by none other than the Derry chairman Philip O`Doherty, looks to be heading to the North East after our old friend Steve Bruce bought into all the bull coming out of Ireland about the 22 year old.

Chris Kirkland has been linked with moves to Premier League rivals West Brom and Stoke City plus Championship club Ipswich Town this past week, he played the second 45 minutes of the Latics v Villarreal preseason friendly yesterday.

Mauro Boselli finally had the season long loan to his former club, Argentine side Estudiantes confirmed this week.

Hugo Rodallega returned to the UK last Sunday following his involvement in the Copa America, with just a year remaining on his contract Latics owner Dave Whelan says: “We’d like him to stay’

‘We’ve not had an offer in for Hugo, and I would imagine Roberto (Martinez) will be keen to get something sorted on that one.

‘We do not want to be selling him, though – absolutely not.”

Finally it’s been confirmed that Wigan Athletic are no longer interested in Honduras internationals Roger Rojas and Oscar Boniek Garcia with top football gossip generator and massive East 17 fan Richard Cranium confirming this, he said: “if we sign even one player other Jones that they’ve linked us with, I’ll be amazed.”, well Richard so will I
