Yesterdays game at the JJB was one of the dullest football matches that I can recall watching, the best thing to come out of the game was the final whistle and the fact that we secured a point

All the player ratings are out of 10 and there is a key at the bottom as to what they all mean:

Chris Kirkland – 5

Fulham had just two shots on target and to be honest I cant remember them, Kirkie commanded his area well and took his goal kicks some of which went nowhere near to where they were intended

Mario Melchiot – 5

His passing was all at sea and he was caught out of position on more than one occasion, mind you with Koumas in front of him not surprising that he thought he had to ‘bomb` up the line to support the attack, not one of Marios better days

Paul Scharner – 7

Tried his best to get the team going, defended very well and carried the ball out of defence on typical Scharner runs, good performance from everyones favourite madcap Austrian

Titus Bramble – 7

Rock solid defending, though Titus does like to make a thunderous challenge in the penalty box and get my heart rate going. He tried to set up attacks with his long diagonal balls, good display

Maynor Figueroa – 8

Figgy is starting to shine, more so since Wilson has left, he seems to be coming out of the shadows, he defended very well all game and got forward when ever he could, his long throws were a weapon yesterday but we were too lack lustre in attack to capitalise on them, good game from Figgy and my Man of the Match

Antonio Valencia – 4

Only lasted 18 minutes and had to withdraw through injury, didn`t look at all comfortable before either, obviously not fully fit so what was he doing on the pitch?

Lee Cattermole – 6

Put himself about but kept running into Ben Watson when he was introduced, Catts is a solid player but yesterday was one of his poorer performances and the midfield was overrun at times

Michael Brown – 4

Like Valencia only lasted 18 minutes and from what we have found out since shouldn`t have started the game

Charles N`Zogbia – 6

To me Zog looked low on confidence, loathe to taken on a man and he looked for the pass as soon as he got the ball, as the game went on he did start to show a bit more and near the end he had a mazy run which showed a bit of promise, a few games and a bit of confidence and I am sure he will be fine

Mido – 6

Went off after 42 minutes but in the time he was on caused problems for the Fulham defence, won a few headers but could have scored and should have hit the target at least with a header just before he went off

Hugo Rodallega – 6

A lot of running around, one or two nice touches but that was it, he obviously isn`t match fit and at times looked a yard off the pace, lets not dent his confidence we don`t want another Aghahowa on our hands

Subs:

Ben Watson – 5

Looked well out of sorts, the game passed him by and he and Catts kept getting into each others way, obviously unfit and short of match practice, I would say that he needs a few games to get up to speed with his new team mates and the Premier League.

Jason Koumas – 1

He`s got 1 because there is no 0, how he can have the cheek to pick up his wages after that performance is beyond me. He had the chance to sparkle yesterday, brought on after 18 minutes almost the full game in front of him, what did he do? He was shocking, sauntering around the pitch, he didn`t break sweat, the only thing he did break I should imagine was wind, if I was the manager I would have taken him off and played with 10 men and I am serious, he was disgraceful and I hope he never plays for us again, he looked hung-over to me, the guy is a disgrace to his profession

Amr Zaki – 6

Lots of running about as usual but going nowhere, he still has the graft from early season but seems to have lost the sparkle, desperately needs a goal to get him back to his best

Match ratings defined:

1) Totally awful, had a mare, should be taken out and shot, 2) Dire, but not usual standard, 3) Very poor. 4) Poor, below the standard expected, 5) Average, the least expected, 6) Better than average, but in patches only, 7) Good, generally decent performance, 8) Very good, above the standard, standing out at times, 9) Excellent, stood out all match, 10) Outstanding truly commanded the match.
