Wigan Athletic striker Marlon King appeared at Southwark Crown Court yesterday as the defendant in a trial having been accused of sexual assault allegedly causing actual bodily harm to a 20 year old female who cannot be named for legal reasons.
A report in the Daily Telegraph says that prosecutor Roger Daniells-Smith told the court that King touched the womans bottom in a ‘deliberate and sexual way` to which the woman recoiled and told King firmly ‘don`t touch me`.
The Telegraph goes on to describe how evidence given by the woman also says that King punched her in the face leaving her with a split lip, broken nose and black eye.
King is claiming mistaken identity and denies the charges but the prosecutor said that ‘many witnesses` not only saw the attack but also recognised King as a high profile sportsman.
At the time of the attack Marlon King was on loan at Hull City
