Wigan Athletic Man of the Match v Villa Poll

Wigan Athletic and Aston Villa played out a 1-1 draw yesterday at Villa Park, Villa equalising from a soft free-kick following a great opening goal from Charlie.

Former Latics favourite Emile Heskey had a bit of a hissy fit clashing with Antolin Alcaraz, in all honesty handbags at dawn.

Good midfield performances from James McCarthy, Ben Watson and Tom Cleverley and, before he went off, Charles N`Zogbia, there were some excellent passing moves and we were comfortable in possession in the first half, unfortunately this season we just can`t finish teams off or seem able to keep leads.

Nonetheless there were some excellent performances, as previously said the midfield were great, Ali Al-Habsi was good between the sticks, he produced good saves from both Heskey and Bent.

For me though Ben Watson was our best player for the 90 minutes, he never shied away from the ball, he plays with great responsibility and discipline, his passing was good, he provided a lynch-pin for most of the Latics passing moves, a great game from one of our most under-rated performers.

So Watson for me, who was your man of the match? To participate in the vote simply access the poll on the right side of this page, select your option and then hit the submit button, it`s that easy.
