Wigan Athletic have made a double Spanish swoop and picked up two 17 year olds Roman Golobart from RCD Espanyol and Abian Serrano of UD Las Palmas
The lads come in to the Latics on one year professional contracts and shows that manager Roberto Martinez has an emphasis on youth, Golobart is a centre-half whilst Serrano is an attacking midfield player who can also play up front.
Martinez said on the double swoop: ‘Both Roman and Abian are exciting talents and it’s a great sign of the club’s outlook that we’re bringing in young professionals that will hopefully be the future of Wigan Athletic.
‘Their performances of their respective clubs have been fantastic and I’m confident that with the right approach from us, and the right attitude from them, they will have a bright future in the game.’
The club is now awaiting international clearance for the two youngsters.
