Wigan Athletic defender Titus Bramble has given a very open interview to the Guardian news paper about the criticism he receives and his time at Newcastle United where he felt he was made a scapegoat.
Bramble is a very private man and it is quite a coup for the Guardian to have got him to talk at all and it does show that he is a sensitive guy and all the criticism that he receives does get to him, 99% of which is totally unfounded.
Below is an exert from the interview and Titus is talking about his mobile phone ringing with an unrecognised number:
‘It was David James,’ he says. ‘I don’t really know him but I’d done an interview with The Voice in which I said I could use him as an inspiration because he had been criticised throughout his career and managed to turn the perception of him around. He’d got my number off Kieron Dyer and he just told me to keep working hard because I could do the same. It was very good of him, the England goalkeeper taking the time to ring me up.’
Titus talks about Sir Bobby Robson and Steve Bruce as well, it is a good read click here for the article
