Reports in the Daily Mail and the Mirror suggest that the Latics have had a £1.5 million bid accepted by Bolton Wanderers for Senegal international defender Abdoulaye Faye

The giant 29 year old has made 71 appearances for the Wanderers scoring 3 goals after joining from French club Lens in 2005, initially on a season long loan

Faye started off his career at Bolton as a defensive midfielder but was switched to centre half last season and he enjoyed immense success in the position

It is reported that Birmingham City are also showing an interest in Faye, but if indeed Chris Hutchings has had a bid accepted and considering the two clubs are only 5 miles apart, we should be ahead of the race on this one

The last time we brought in players from Bolton, Scott Green and David Lee, they were a great success for the Latics, if Faye comes here`s hoping that he can repeat that success

A good price for an international defender? What do you think?
