Following what was an exhilarating game that saw the Latics triumph 4-3 over Blackburn it`s very easy to get carried away, so I thought I`d trawl my way through the Sunday`s papers to see if they agreed with me, that the Latics were fantastic, you know what? They do seem to agree, take a look below:

The Independent‘The way the talented young McCarthy chipped the ball up twice on his right foot before finishing with his left was a delight to see.’The Independent

The Daily Express‘In a downpour at the DW Stadium, the goals flew in. Good goals, direct goals, scruffy goals, penalties and, from James McCarthy, an extraordinary juggle and half-volley that he had no right to score on a bog of a pitch.’ The Daily Express

The Mirror‘In one of the games of the season, McCarthy scored one of the goals of the season to give Wigan their first win of 2011’ The Mirror

The People‘Although a six-hour deluge left the DW Stadium pitch like a quagmire, it made for cracking entertainment’ The People

The Mail‘Few people would have expected such a scoring spree. But they edged out Blackburn during a thrilling second half containing five goals.’ The Mail

Some positive press, makes a pleasant change
