A massive game at the DW tomorrow for the Latics, Cardiff City are in town in what is a must win game for us, exciting probably isn’t the right word but it does get the heart racing.
Cardiff have done well under Warnock since he went there and they are comfortably in mid-table, hopefully our plight will gi9ve us the extra fight we need to grab the three points.
In the build up to the game both managers have been speaking to the media, let’s take a look at what they have been saying:
Latics boss Graham Barrow – ”It’s probably the toughest game I’ve been involved in as a manger to pick the team because we have a job to do and there are a lot of permutations.
”We’ve got to get it right but I like to keep things fresh.”
”Myself and Neil (Warnock) go back a long way really and we’ve ebbed and flowed with the results, so I need a result against him on Saturday.
”It’s probably been 50/50 between us down the years but I’ve got to make sure I edge it this time and get the result.
”There’s never been any needle between us but there’s always been that competitive edge, and it’ll be tough for us again this time.
”He’ll have the side motivated, no question.”
”The fans were great at the last two home games because they stuck by us. We`ve been behind in both games so for them to stick with us was fantastic.
”We need them to be with us on Saturday. We’re going to do everything we can to win the game and we need your help again.
”The atmosphere at the end of the games was as good as I’ve seen and if we can get over the line again, then we know it’s still to play for”
Cardiff boss Neil Warnock – ”It’s not often I’m in mid-table ? I’m either fighting relegation or going for promotion”
”It’s different because there’s no edge on the game, but we’ve got to try and make our own edge.
”Wigan are a good footballing team and they’ll have a lot of possession”
”Powell’s had a right good spell in front of goal so we’ll be tested and I think it will be a good game.
”People say there’s pressure at the top of the table but I wouldn’t want to be in their position. It’s a horrible place to be. I think there’s far more pressure at the other end of the table.
”Every game has got something riding on it. Wigan beat us down here (in Cardiff) and I don’t want them to have a double over us.
”I think the challenge is there.”
