Latics and Brentford played out a goalless draw at the DW Stadium yesterday, the importance of the result was shown by the fact that we jumped two places up the table courtesy of the point gained, but we are still in a very precarious position and with a recent return of just 4 points from a possible 21 telling its own story, some would say the pressure is on.

Following the game both bosses spoke to the media, let’s take a look at what they had to say:

Latics boss Uwe Rösler – ‘In the first-half, Brentford were clearly the better team’

‘We looked quite poor to be honest but, having said that, we had two or three very good chances.

‘In the second-half, the boys showed a good reaction, we evened the game out and we looked like a team who would win the game.

‘We had two or three decent opportunities as the game went on and overall I think the point is a fair result.’

‘I think against Brentford it was better than Forest because in the first-half Brentford played very well’

‘It was good character from the boys because sitting in the dressing room at half-time, we had been outplayed.

‘So to come back, after adjusting and changing the game-plan a little bit – which worked for us much better was good, but still a lot of things to do.’

‘We’re all a little bit disappointed because we wanted to win the game, we have to analyse now and go again on Tuesday.

‘Tuesday is a good chance for us, I think we have to entertain and produce better results at home – Tuesday gives a good opportunity to do that.’

Brentford boss Mark Warburton – ‘I am very pleased’

‘I thought we were the dominant team in the first half and were disappointed not to go in with an advantage at half time.

‘We looked after the ball well and looked like the home team in the first half.

‘We knew Uwe would rally his troops and they came out hard.

‘I am delighted we weathered the storm.

‘Maybe we could have taken care of the ball more in the second half and been ten yards higher.

‘But we are disappointed as a group not to take all three points.

‘That shows how far we have come.

‘There was tremendous work rate, tremendous application and to come to here and be disappointed not to win, shows where we are.’
