Latics travelled down to the south coast to play Brighton in a bottom of the table Championship clash hoping to build on the six game unbeaten run, unfortunately due to a horrendous start and a goal for the Seagulls after just 40 seconds, we were caught with our trousers down and didn’t manage to pull them all game.

Following the final whistle both managers spoke to the media, let’s take a look at what they had to say:

Latics boss Uwe Rösler – ‘It was another performance where we were on top; I don’t think we could do any more in terms of dominating away from home’

‘In terms of scoring goals; we had enough opportunities.

‘When you go away from home, of course, you don’t want to concede early on but I don’t think it affected us in any way because we were completely in charge of the game.

‘What was missing was the quality to score a goal and we had enough chances because we are attack-minded, we control games, play in their half, 60% possession and not many teams have that – with all the domination we need quality in final third.

‘I can’t fault the appetite, energy or hunger from my players, we did everything we trained and worked on.’

Fulham boss Sami Hyypia – ‘It’s a great feeling to win the game.

‘It was very important to win in this situation and the team showed a lot of character.

‘It’s a big relief to get the win; I just concentrate on my job and work with the pressures. I do what I believe.

‘I make my own pressures as for outside pressures, I don’t really care.’
