The fantastic run came to an end at Fulham on Saturday but the Latics are still in the driving seat in the battle to avoid the drop
There looked to be a few tired players at the final whistle, considering the intensity of performance and calibre of the opposition over recent weeks its hardly surprising. A good rest this week and hopefully the squad will be revitalised for the visit of Newcastle next weekend
Back to Saturday and although we lost the game the performance was quite good, if we’d have managed to get the point that looked likely until the 89th minute, you’d have called it a decent away display
There were some good individual performances, Emmerson Boyce and Gary Caldwell both had decent games, James McCarthy ran himself into the ground but Maynor Figueroa was my pick of the bunch
So Figgy was my man of the match, to vote for your choice, simply access the man of the match poll on the right side of this page, select your preferred option and then hit the submit button, it’s that easy
