Latics took a point from the match with Everton, but with a little more awareness from the forwards, well one in particular, they could quite easily have wrapped the game up almost immediately after the opening goal.

Though the game for the most part was very uninspiring there were still some good performances from Latics players. Jean Beausejour was the pick of the bunch for me, he had a good home debut and looked dangerous on the ball, his delivery was good and a great low cross led to the game’s opening goal when Everton defender Phil Neville deflected passed Howard

So Beausejour for me, but who was your Latics man of the match? To participate in the vote simply access the poll on the right side of this page, select your preferred option and then hit the submit button, it’s that easy
