Latics took a fantastic point with a late Jordi Gomez goal as Martinez’s men came from behind against Chelsea.

A highly entertaining game of football saw some excellent individual displays from Latics players, the back three of Alcaraz, Caldwell and Figueroa were solid all afternoon, Gary Caldwell in particular standing out.

Jordi Gomez had a cracking game, some neat touches, excellent passes and he scored his fourth goal in five games to grab a point late on, both Victor Moses and Conor Sammon worked tirelessly with Moses in particular looking dangerous, but my man of the match is between two players who had outstanding games, Momo Diame and James McCarthy.

The two midfielders looked class, both played with desire and drove the Latics forward with intelligent passing and good runs on the ball, for me James McCarthy just shaded it, I thought he had his best game this season and looked back to last years form, a top class performance.

So McCarthy is my choice, but who would you pick as the Latics man of the match v Chelsea, to vote simply access the poll on the right side of this page, select your preferred option and then hit the submit button, its that easy.

A great game from young Macca
