Latics came from going a goal behind after just three minutes to beat Charlton in the Championship at the DW Stadium on Saturday. Though they spent most of the game chasing, the never say die attitude paid off in the end.

There were some very good performances, James McClean had a good game, but for me the three substitutes, Josh McEachran and goal scorers Marc-Antoine Fortune and Jordi Gomez made the biggest impact on the game.

McEachran had an impressive debut and his driving run and great through ball set Fortune up for his well taken goal to tie the game for the Latics.

Fortune brought powerful running to the game, caused the Charlton defence problems and as previously mentioned scored the equalising goal.

Gomez, when he came on looked like a man with a lot to prove, strong in the challenge and as always good on the ball, the Spaniard was in inspired form, he won a free kick right at the death with the scores level, picked himself up and then curled the ball round the outside of the Charlton wall and into the bottom corner of the goal, at the keepers near post to give the Latics the points.
