Three Latics youngsters have been allowed to move on loan to non-league sides this past week as they look to grab some first team experience.

Sam Cosgrove recently moved temporarily to Nantwich Town and he has been joined on the ‘loaned out’ column by Ryan Jennings (Grimsby Town), Owen Evans (Witton Albion) and Danny O’Brien (Chester).

Jennings had a successful spell at Cheltenham before Christmas, the speedy wide attacking player is set to stay at Grimsby until the end of the current season and he should get plenty of game time.

Goalkeeper Owen Evans actually made his debut for Witton at the weekend, his new side won away at Bamber Bridge in an Evo-Stik First Division North fixture and came away with the points in a 1-4 victory, Evans being beaten from the penalty spot.

Midfield man O’Brien will spend time at National League club Chester and will be there until 12th March at least. All the youngsters going out will gain valuable experience that can only benefit their development.
