Thomas who injured a quadricep’s muscle in the controversial defeat against Man City at Eastlands on Monday, is battling to be fit for the crucial game against Roy Hodgson’s Fulham.
His injury is believed to be a major catalyst in Martinez’s decision to recall Ben Watson from his loan spell with West Bromwich Albion.
The twenty five year old Honduran has played twenty eight times for the Latics in his debut season in England, mainly as a defensive midfielder and his loss would be a major blow to Martinez, in his battle to secure a further season for WIgan in the Premier League.
