The Battle of the Latics will continue for one more season at least, Wigan Athletic have been drawn away to face Oldham Athletic in the first round of the 2016/17 EFL cup.

Having left League 1 behind for the Championship at the end of the last campaign we could have been forgiven for believing that the two Latics wouldn’t be facing each other for a while, but such are cup draws and we have been paired together in the Northern Section of this seasons League cup.
