Charles N`Zogbia came off the bench at half time to turn around a game that Latics were in danger of losing and probably added another million to his transfer value.
Both sides opted to make changes from their normal starting line ups, Wigan brought in Amaya, Koumas, Mc Carthy and Sinclair for Boyce, N`Zogbia, Cho and Gomez respectively with Pollitt keeping his place after Kirkland`s illness midweek.
The first half was played with both sides attacking at will with plenty of effort but little class. For Wigan Sinclair shone like a beacon, giving ex Wigan player and Hull captain Kilbane a torrid time. From one break his shot was deflected and had Myhill scrambling in the Hull goal.
At the other end a couple of half chances went near the goal with the ebst chance a set piece from Geovanni.
Hull`s goal when it came was once again as a result of a set piece and does again raise questions about Wigan`s defending of set pieces.
A run from centre half Zayette was brought to a halt by a crude tackle from Bramble just outside the penalty area. Wigan , with Scotland coordinating the wall spent an eternity getting it right but the shot from Geovanni beat the wall and left Pollitt stationary in the Wigan goal.
Latics once again appeared to let the heads drop and once again there seemed to be a lack of leadership on the pitch. Rodallega had a couple of half chances but at half time the team left the pitch to a noticeable chorus of boos.
The second half brought an immediate change with N`Zogbia replacing the totally anonymous and ineffective Koumas and this change brought an immediate response as Latics were level within two minutes as a good lay off from the industrious Scotland to N`Zogbia saw the mercurial Frenchman cut in from the right and fired an unstoppable shot past Myhill.
This lifted the whole team and with M cCarthy growing in stature as the game went on Wigan began to dominate the game passing the ball around with flair although too often an attacking move ended with the ball being passed back to the defence.
Latics however quickly capitalised on their dominance however there was a hint of good fortune as a Mc Carthy shot took a deflection which put the ball out of Myhill`s reach and into the corner of the goal.
N`Zogbia was everywhere and made it three within five minutes when he popped up on the other side of the penalty area and chipped Myhill to make it three.
From then on Latics were cruising and Sinclair capped off his man of the match performance with a blistering shot from a tight angle.
The final whistle brought a loud cheer from a sparse and frozen crowd but will give fresh impetus to Latics` quest to remain in the Premier League.

Good 2nd half which was due to Koumas going off and a superb Zog coming on, I also thought Scotland did well today
If you thought Scotland was good don’t sit in the West stand near the South Stand… he didnt have many admirers there i’m afraid…even I told them to shut up
