The Wigan Athletic squad returned to training yesterday (Monday) following last weeks international break and the only players missing were Egypt striker Mido and Ecuador international Antonio Valencia
There were seven Wigan players involved in last weeks internationals, Hugo Rodallega (Colombia) and Maynor Figueroa (Honduras) had the longest trips having been over to South and Central America
Paul Scharner (Austria) and Erik Edman (Sweden) actually played against each other whilst Amr Zaki (Egypt) faced Latics 3rd choice keeper Richard Kingson (Ghana) in a friendly game in Cairo.
Latics midfield General, Lee Cattermole (England U21) made up the seventh player away on international duty.
Boss Steve Bruce breathed a sigh of relief yesterday at Christopher Park when they all bounded back in through the gates and were raring to go in preparation for this weekends game up at Middlesbrough.
The news on the two injured stars is that Valencia is rated 50/50 for this weekend, so I cant see Brucie risking him following what happened in the Fulham match, whilst Mido has had a flare up of a long standing groin problem and he wont play this week but is expected to be fit for the Chelsea game the following Saturday.
