Selection dilemma for Paul Cook to chew over?

Now we`ve no game tonight, my attention is already on our team selection against Blackburn this weekend.

Whilst we`ve been knocking the likes of Manchester City out of the FA Cup, we`ve seen Rovers overtake us in the league and that simply will not do.

I`m still more than confident we`ll go up as champions this season – we`ve got the time and ability to do that – but a loss on Sunday would be a blow nevertheless.

I`m looking for one of our strikers to fire us to a win, then, but I`m debating who I`d like leading the line – Will Grigg or James Vaughan.

There`s surely no way Cooky is going to play the pair of them in this one as it would leave us exposed a bit more in midfield against a good Rovers team.

Devante Cole, meanwhile, remains behind them in the pecking order and so it`s obviously going to be one from the two at Ewood Park.

If I had to go for one, I`d probably go with Grigg. Vaughan obviously started last weekend and therefore Grigg might be that bit fresher as he only played about the last fifteen minutes.

No game tonight obviously negates that factor a bit, but I just think we`re going to need someone who can hold the ball up away from home as well as having the legs to run and Grigg strikes me as the better forward to be able to do that.

Come the second-half, depending on the score, I could then see Vaughan coming on – particularly if we need to change the game – though I`ve got a good feeling we`re going to get in front and stay in front.

Would you play Vaughan or Grigg? Let me know in the poll!
