Chris Hutchings is considering bringing former goalkeeper Roy Carroll back to the JJB.

The Northern Ireland international goalkeeper as been released by West Ham and could be a replacement for John Filan.

With the Latics in need of cover in the goalkeeping area, especially with half a season Kirkland on board, big Roy would be seen by many as an ideal candidate for this position.

Former favourite Carroll played 167 times for the Latics before his big money move to Old Trafford.

Things didn`t work out as planned at Manchester United and he signed for West Ham two years ago, making 31 appearances for the London club.

Roy has been blighted by ‘off the pitch` problems this season, which led to him being released by Hammers boss Alan Curbishley.

Should we re-sign Roy Carroll?
