Rob’s Prediction: Leicester v Wigan

Wigan Athletic arrive at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium on the back of an impressive victory against Nottingham Forest. With an unfortunate injury to Grant Holt, it will be interesting to see what the front line will look like today.

The good news is Callum McManaman is back today and his trickery down the wings will certainly give Leicester City something to think about as he will be chomping at the bit to forget his recent troubles on the pitch with his unfortunate red card at Bournemouth and deliver a good performance on the pitch.

Nick Powell and Ryan Shotton are interesting additions to the team and no doubt Powell and Shotton will both add flair to the attack and defense aspect of the game.

Leicester are yet to score a league goal against Wigan Athletic and Wigan are going to Leicester, defending a 100% record against them. Whilst Leicester isn’t an easy place to go, we should be going there full of confidence and hopefully claiming a championship win with Leicester’s poor form against Wigan continuing today. Fingers crossed.

ROB’S PREDICTIONS
=================

Burnley vs Blackburn – Oooh, this is a very tasty derby game. It will all or nothing for both sides to maintain pride. I am going for a home win. 1-0

Bolton vs Leeds – Bolton have had a terrible start to the season, whilst Leeds have been having a reasonable start. Both sides have yet to be spectacular but I think this is an important game, one which Bolton cannot afford to lose. They will. 0-1

Bournemouth vs Blackpool – This will be a very physical game and Bournemouth have an excellent home record and having dispatched Wigan in their last home game in an impressive performance, this might be a difficult day for Blackpool. We’ll get our own back at the DW. 1-0

Huddersfield vs Doncaster – This is the second biggest game of the day after Leicester vs Wigan. Doncaster have a good away record whilst Huddersfield have a good start at home under Mark Robins. Its a game neither side can really afford to lose and Huddersfield’s poor result at Barnsley will only serve to encourage them. 1-1

Ipswich vs Middlesbrough – Oh, this is difficult. I just have a sneaky feeling this one could be a draw. So hard to tell as both sides are reasonable at playing yet are to reach any dizzy heights.
1-1

Leicester vs Wigan – The result of the day is going to be a Wigan victory. I just sense this will be a bad day for Leicester which could hit their stride for promotion. 0-1

Millwall vs Derby – Millwall have had it really tough and they have not done too well of late at all. This is a very important clash for the home side and I just have a feeling it will be a draw. 1-1

Nottingham Forest vs Barnsley – Another tough away day for the Tykes. They are not good away from home. Nottingham Forest will be looking for a response. Home win. 5-0

QPR vs Birmingham – Lee Clark isn’t doing much to encourage the Birmingham faithful and they’ve gone on a bit of a slide in recent times. QPR need to win to keep their championship promotion hopes afloat. 1-0

Sheff Wed vs Yeovil – Neither team has impressed much but I think Yeovil are in for a long, hard season. Expect Wed to win comfortably here. 3-0

Watford vs Charlton – Watford are a very good side and will be looking for promotion – Charlton are on a wobble and I think Watford will win this. 2-0

See you next time for Rob’s Prediction.
