Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is lining up an end of season swoop for Espanyol striker Jose Callejon, who was subject to interest from the Latics in the last transfer window.

The 23 year old striker, who is a product of the Real Madrid youth system is aware of the Latics interest and told Spanish newspaper ‘Sport` that both Wigan and Espanyol were speaking about him in January.

He also says that he is happy at Espanyol but wouldn`t rule anything out, speaking to Sport Callejon said: “I know both clubs were talking about it on the final day of the transfer window, but ultimately did not reach any agreement.”

“I am very happy at Espanyol. I`m very focused on this team. Though in the world of football, nobody knows what will happen, anything can happen.”
