Scottish giants Rangers are being linked with a move for Hamilton midfield man and Wigan Athletic transfer target James McArthur.

Reports north of the border suggest that the champions elect are ready to come in and make an offer to Hamilton for one of the stars of this seasons SPL but whether it would be enough to match the Accies valuation is another matter.

The Latics have been tracking the 22 year old player for most of the season and boss Roberto Martinez is considering pairing McArthur up with his former Hamilton team mate James McCarthy who made the move south last summer, it looks like the young Scotland international might have his choice of clubs once the transfer window opens
