Wigan Athletic veteran goalkeeper Mike Pollitt as signed another one year extension keeping him at the club until at least June 2013

The former Rotherham keeper joined the Latics in July 2005 and he’s made 50 appearances to date serving under four managers, current boss Roberto Martinez said: ‘Above all Mike is a fantastic goalkeeper, whose experience and professionalism sets a high standard in training every day.

‘He has had to be patient for opportunities on the pitch, but his commitment is never questioned and for the younger members of our squad he remains the example to follow, and we’re delighted to have him with us next season.’

Although the news only broke officially this morning Vital Latics were tipped off yesterday after Vital member Mr Joe bumped into Polly at an unnamed Petrol Station, Mr Joe reported: ‘Saw him today at a petrol station, he said he had just signed for another year’
