Wigan Athletic and Bolton played out a goalless draw in yesterdays FA Cup 4th round tie at the Reebok, Vital Latics member J_Mo went along to the game and was impressed by the performance, below he sets out his player ratings for the game, over to you J_Mo:

Mike Pollitt – 6

Didn’t have many saves to make, but I think we missed Ali’s quicker distribution.

Emmerson Boyce – 6

Did ok, but struggled to cope with Petrov. Good to see him get a full ninety minutes under his belt though.

Gary Caldwell – 7

Showed us why we missed him against Villa. Solid at the back, and put himself about at the other end of the pitch too.

Adrian Lopez – 6

Didn’t do a lot wrong. Surely a better option than Stevie Caldwell at the back, Roberto?!?

Maynor Figueroa – 8

Maybe a little controversial but I thought he was excellent today. Supported Moses well and much better defensively.

James McArthur – 6

Fairly quiet game, but tidy in possession.

Ben Watson – 5

Hasn’t been at his best recently. Will struggle to keep his place with McCarthy back in the picture.

Momo Diame – 7

Made some great runs with the ball, but faded towards the end of the game.

Jordi Gomez – 7

Best player on the pitch in the first half, but struggled after the break. Forced Jaaskelainen into a decent save at the end, and his passing is second to none, but it seems the other side to his game will forever frustrate Latics fans.

Callum McManaman – 8

Tough test today for Callum being marked by two strong and quick centre backs, but he passed it with flying colours. Full of energy, and not afraid to take a shot on.

Victor Moses – 7

Caused problems, and might have had a goal if he was match fit. A few grumbles in the crowd when he was subbed off but he looked knackered.

Verdict:

A good performance from the Latics, especially in the first half when we dominated for long periods. A replay isn’t ideal, but today should give us some confidence going into the West Brom game on Tuesday.
