Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Owen Evans has joined National League side Sutton United on a 28-day loan deal.

Evans is the second Latics player to join Sutton on a 28-day loan contract during this January transfer window, following in the footsteps of centre-back Terell Thomas.

This is the Wales Under 21 international’s third loan spell away from the DW Stadium, after previously spending time at Rhyl and North Ferriby United.

Evans’ only senior appearance for Wigan so far came in this season’s 2-1 home win over Blackpool in the Carabao Cup first round.
