Wigan Athletic Under 21 side are in action this Saturday, travelling to Valley Road, Flixton to take on Northwich Victoria

The Vics have had a very troubled recent past and are no longer based in Northwich, they are in the top 50 oldest clubs in English football but found themselves homeless when, after moving from the Drill Field to the new Victoria Stadium, their new home was sold to a local chemical company and the Vics were evicted

A once proud club who have had many duels against the Latics down the years now find themselves languishing in the Northern Premier League Division One North and squatting at Flixton

Vital Latics have been contacted by a Vics fan to let us know that on Saturday prior to the game five Vics fans are doing a charity walk to the match from their old ground, with proceeds being split between NVFC and local charity The Joshua Tree. Any donations would be much appreciated by both … link

He also said that there is a decent bar at the ground as well, so if weather stays as it is, it’ll be a good day

The Vics are managed by former Latics striker Lee Ashcroft whilst Ian Kilford, who made 221 league appearances for the club is the current Player/Assistant Manager.

The game kicks off at 3.00pm with adult tickets priced at £5.00 and concessions at £3.00.
