Wigan Athletic midfield man Momo Diame has received a call-up to the Senegal squad ahead of their ACN qualifier against Cameroon on Saturday.

Although born and raised in France, Diame qualifies to play for Senegal through his father who was from Dakar, sadly he passed away in 2000 but the 23 year old says that his call-up would have made his dad very proud.

Speaking to the Latics official website about his first international call-up Diame said: ‘For me to play for my father’s country would have made him very proud, it’s a huge honour to get the call up.’
