Mike Pollitt was voted the Wigan Athletic man of the match for his cameo performance in the 1-1 draw away at Bolton when the evergreen veteran replaced the stricken Chris Kirkland.

With the Latics losing 1-0 Pollitt was thrown in at the deep end on 62 minutes following Kirkland suffering concussion, and the big lad didn`t let us down.

Pollitt made at least five cracking saves to ensure the Latics took a point back to the DW Stadium after Ronnie Stam equalised and Polly was jumping for joy at the final whistle knowing he had played his part in a memorable night.

For the record the voting was:

Mike Pollitt – 55%
James McArthur 17%
